DICHROIC JEWELLERY
Dichroic glass was originally produced for the aerospace industry. It has a special coating placed on the glass by a highly technical vacuum deposition process.
All this means is that it has a transmitted colour and a completely different reflective colour and these two colours shift and blend depending on which angle you look at it. This gives the glass a beautiful play of light and vibrant colours, making it perfect for creating beautiful pieces of jewellery.
Dichroic glass can be fused with other compatible glass and used on its own or combined with bought jewellery findings or Precious Metal Clay to create gorgeous, wearable works of art.
All dichroic glass jewellery is hand made and fused by Julie Sutherland in our Studio. All pieces are unique.
At the moment, we are only offerring finished dichroic jewellery but are planning classes for the near future. Please phone the studio if you are interested and, when we have enough names, we will start running classes.
