Essentials
On completion of 'Essentials', students become VIBs (Very Important Beaders) and are entitled to a range of benefits including free UFO (UnFinished Objects) classes and a permanent 10% discount on beads and findings.
We call this 4-week set of classes 'Essentials' because they cover all the techniques that you will need to learn before you can progress to our other 'Project' classes. We find that they are useful not just for beginners but also those who are self-taught, by providing them with new ideas and ways to increase thier knowledge and skills. We have been told by many 'experienced' beaders who have attended these classes that they picked up lots of tips and also learned the more professional techniques that are not taught elsewhere.
In 'Essentials' you will learn:
the names of the findings and the correct way to use them to achieve your designs
how to make a perfect round loop
three different methods of stringing, including using crimp covers and wire protectors (a really professional finish not taught in other bead shops, to our knowledge)
creating a balanced design and co-ordinating colours
a fail-proof method of ensuring your necklaces and bracelets are the right length (no more wasting time re-stringing)
how to correctly calculate the amount of materials needed to complete a design (no more costly leftovers)
